What can I check out?
Everything in the library is available for check out.

How long can I keep the things I check out?
You may keep them for 3 weeks. You may also renew any materials as long as there is not a waiting list. If there is a waiting list, we ask that you return the material at the end of the 3 weeks.

I returned my items but they were overdue. Are there any fines?
We do not charge for overdue fines.

I spilled a caramel macchiato all over the library book I checked out and I ruined it. Now what do I do?
You can do one of two things:
1. You can let Susan Mann at the library know (library@calvarybible.com) and she will order a replacement with you covering the cost of replacement or
2. You can obtain another copy and give it to the library, letting Susan know about the damaged book.

I can't find the book I checked out. What now?
You can do the same thing as if it were damaged (see above). You can replace it yourself or you can ask the library to order a replacement with you covering the replacement costs.

I am new to Christian fiction and don't know what I to read. Can you help?
Yes!
1. Click on the "Reader's Guide" on the sidebar of the catalog website. On that page we have links to lists of fiction listed by age.
2. Click on the age group you are interested in and it will take you to a page that lists authors by genre.
3. Click on an author's name and you will be given a list of all of the title by that author. You can also click on a series name and you will be given a list of titles in that series.

How do I find a book by an author I really like?
Go to the library's online catalog. If you know the name of the author, enter the name in the box and at the pull down menu click on "Author". You can also search by keyword, title and subject.
You can also search by using either the expert search or combination search. These two searches can be used to narrow searches when large numbers of records are returned.

I found a book that is all about the subject I'm interested in. How do I find more books with that same subject?
From the search results page, click on the title of the item you are interested in. On the full display page, there are subject headings in blue toward the middle of the screen. Click on the blue subject heading you are interested in and a list of materials with that subject heading will come up. Any of part of the record in blue can be used to find other materials with the same subject heading or author.

No, you can't. But you can e-mail the library and ask for an extension. If there is a waiting list for any of the items, they cannot be renewed and should be returned to the library as soon as possible. If there is no waiting list, they will be renewed.

The catalog says that the item I want is checked out. Is there a way you can reserve it for me?
Yes. Follow the same steps as you would to have a book held for you at the library. When we receive the request e-mail, we will put it on reserve for you. When the item is returned, an e-mail will be automatically sent to you telling you the book is ready to be picked up at the library.
